Mixed Doubles Strategy Websites

Generally, in mixed doubles, the male will play in the backcourt and female will play in the front court.  This is the way you would normally position yourselves because the male is usually the stronger of the two.  The male will take most of the deep shots to the back of the court and the drives to the side of the court while the female will take most of the net shots.

The reason why you would want the male to take more of the drive shots is because he would be moving forward to hit the shot as opposed to the female moving backward.  In badminton, it is much easier to hit a shot that is in front of you then a shot that is behind you.

As in doubles, the two players need to communicate with one another to decide what the correct positioning would be in certain situations.

The following websites will give you insights on how to serve to the opposing man and woman, how to return serve for the man and the woman, shot selection during the rally, and positioning during the rally.
